Primary Attributes
Primary Attributes
The core of any role playing game is an attribute system based on incremental character growth. It includes the seven basic stats: Strength, Dexterity, Agility, Vitality, Intellect, Wisdom and lastly, Luck. Primary Attributes are used to calculate Secondary Attributes for things like Attack Power and Magick Resist.
Strength
Strength represents physical power. It is the main stat that determines Attack and a secondary stat that determines Defense. Having high Strength will make the unit very powerful physically, but it will have no impact whatsoever on magic-based offense or defense.
Dexterity
Dexterity in this game measures the unit’s expertise in combat. The ability to wield various weaponry, skillfully cast magick spells, or anything else requiring the hands. It is mainly used in calculating Physical Attack and has minor effects on Physical Defense and Magick Resist. Dexterity also increases Accuracy and Critical Hit Chance.
Agility
Agility measures quickness. It influences Speed which depicts how fast a unit acts. High Agility makes for a unit that is able to act often and evade enemy attacks. This stat also influences Critical Hit Chance as well. Lastly, Agility has minor effects on both Physical Attack and Magick Power.
Vitality
Vitality relates to toughness, durability and health. This stat mainly influences HP and Physical Defense. It also has a smaller impact on Magick Resist. Vitality is the most important attribute for units who intend to act as defenders or tanks.
Intellect
Intellect measures a unit’s mental acuity. It mainly impacts Magick Power which is incredibly important for spell-casters. While it does not affect MP, it does have a slight influence over Magick Resist. The effects of this also slightly boost individual Elemental Resistance.
Wisdom
Widsom determines overall mental capacity and as such it has a direct influence over MP. While it does increase Magick Power on a small scale, it’s main influence is Magick Resist. As a defensive attribute it also has a major impact on individual Elemental Resistance.
Luck
Luck is a special stat and the slowest growing primary attribute. It has a small influence over Accuracy and Critical Hit Chance, but it’s strength lies possibility. When you least expect it, it can push the odds in your favor. Any unit that uses abilities with a chance of failure would do well to increase this stat.
