Armor

Armor

Armor is a type of Equipment that falls under the Item category. Armor comes in four (4) different types and is categorized by three (3) different weight classes.

Armor Classes

Similar to Shields, Armor makes use of three tiers based on size, weight, and protection. The different classes scale Defense differently. Light Armor tends to have less Defense but is often much lighter. Medium Armor tends to focus on all-around stats, whereas Light Armor is good for Magick Jobs and Stealth Jobs. Heavy Armor is usually reserved for your defense based Jobs but can also be useful for physical attackers.

Armor Type

Units can equip up to two (2) pieces of Armor, but only one (1) of any single type. Armor Type is based on where it’s worn. Each Armor Type comes in all four (4) classes.

Equipping

Unlike Weapons and Shields, Armor does not show up on a unit when equipped. Since the Jobs themselves are often based around a specific armor type, their base sprites reflect this.

Units may equip up to two (2) different Armor Types. Body Armor is often chosen as one type, but there might be benefits to mixing two other types depending on what sort of build you are going for.
