Features
- Unit Management
- Manage dozens of units as they learn Jobs, earn Accolades, and accrue a detailed battle history.
- Main Characters have unique Jobs, but there are also special generic units you’ll come across with specialized versions of their generic Job.
- When changing Jobs, Main Characters change their sprites like any other unit (although sometimes the hats wont fit).
- Outfit units with Weapons and/or Shields as well as two (2) pieces of armor (Head, Body, Arms, Legs) and one (1) accessory.
- Over 20 different Weapon Types, each with their own attack type, attack animation and range specifications.
- Some Jobs may let you Dual Wield weapons, or equip a 2 Handed Weapon and a Shield.
- Units can also be equipped with at least four (4) items such as potions or bombs that can be used during battle.
- Equipped weapons and shields will be visible on your units during battle.
- Job System
- A huge, multi-tiered system of over 40 Jobs with their own Ability Sets and Passives.
- Jobs are unlocked via various requirements beyond simply leveling lower tiered Jobs.
- Each Job has an Innate Passive, that is always active and is exclusive to the Job
- Jobs also have their own Ability Set and Passives which are learned via Job Points earned during battle.
- Jobs will earn Job Ranks which will unlock more advanced Passives that you can learn. The more advanced the Job, the more Ranks it has.
- Some advanced Jobs may require you to advance lower Jobs to a certain Rank before they unlock.
- Units who learn multiple Jobs can equip one as a Sub-Job allowing them to use two Job Sets at once.
- Jobs have restrictions on the types of Weapons (Swords, Bows, etc) that can be equipped as well as allowed Armor Types (Light, Medium, Heavy) which apply to Armor and Shields.
- Passives can allow a unit to overcome these limitations.
- The Job System is deeply ingrained in the world itself and plays a large role in the story.
- Combat
- Handmade, isometric tile-maps represent the battlefield as fighting will occur in many different terrains.
- The battlefield is littered obstacles, steep hills, dangerous cliffs, shallow rivers and more making location matter more than ever.
- Weather influences elemental properties as does the time of day, both of which change over the course of a battle. (Some story battles have set time or weather)
- Time will transition between four (4) phases: Dawn, Day, Dusk(of course), and Night. These will alter the power of Light and Dark elemental abilities.
- Knock enemies off cliffs, freeze water, burn objects, build fortifications, and change the landscape with special abilities.
- Overall unit weight matters! Each piece of equipment or item you have equipped adds to this!
- Weight influences turn speed determines how far you can be knocked back and how much fall damage you take!
- Heavy weight does more damage during unit collisions, but lessens the power (# of tiles travelled) of knockbacks.
- Over 200+ Abilities which consist of Physical Skills & Weapon Arts, Magickal Spells, and Spiritual Prayers!
- Over 100+ Passives that augment a unit’s traits.
- Different movement types such as Slow, Agile, Athletic, Flying, Hover, Teleport, and more.
- Want to walk on water? Float over lava? Swim in land? (Well not that last one).
- Steal equipment, items and money, Recruit enemy units, Tame wild beasts, Summon Elementals!
- Dead enemies will often drop some of the equipment they were wearing as well as money.
- On rare occasions they will drop a Stat Crystal which is based on the unit’s highest stat. When collected, the unit will receive a very small, but permanent increase for the appropriate stat.
- Many objects on the map can be destroyed and may contain various loot.
- Story maps tend to have Treasure Chests which may have valuable items in them…they may also just be Mimics messing with you.
- If a Mimic spawns and you kill it, it should drop the loot that was in the chest.
- Handmade, isometric tile-maps represent the battlefield as fighting will occur in many different terrains.
- Story
- A lenghty story in a strange world. Travel between neighboring empires gaining reputation with different groups and guilds known as Orders. Meet many influential people and even a few strange weirdos on a continent spanning journey.
- Cutscenes are told through the very sprites and battlemaps you’ll fight on (ala Tactics Ogre and original Final Fantasy Tactics).
- Plenty of dialog (yes, it’s skippable) with beautifully detailed, expressive 2D portraits representing each character.
- Move around via the World Map where you’ll advance the story while completing quests, fighting random battles, shopping, and more!
