A Look Back At 2022 – December 21st 2022
Dusk Tactics has come a long way and one of the major issues I had been putting off, display at different resolutions, is finally handled. The game now displays much better at different resolutions (whew). This involves using a frame buffer to draw the screen to a virtual image (if you will) that is then rendered to the actual screen. This is the way most post effects are done, but it can also be used for scaling, especially when you’re dealing with possibly non-integer scaling with pixel art.
While it looks mostly the same in the screenshots, they’ve been taken at different resolutions. So while the majority are 720p, some of them have been 1080p.
What will the next year bring? Most likely less visual updates and a lot more behind the scenes testing, but that’s not all!
New Jobs & Abilities, generic portraits, and more updates coming in 2023!
