New Particle Projectiles & HP Bars – April 20th 2023

I’ve been focusing less on promotion so I can get as much work done. In the meantime, here’s some new particle projectiles. The fireball finally has a glow to it that follows the projectile perfectly.

The order seen in the gif: Fire -> Ice -> Crossbow Bolt -> Water

In other news I was re-playing Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark by the amazing 6 Eyes Studio LLC (definitely recommend giving it a try if you enjoy tactical role playing games) and I found myself using the “show all HP bars” button a lot.

It’s a genre staple, but I decided to go with an all or nothing toggle option on the settings screen: (always on vs active only).

Should Dusk Tactics have a ‘show all HP bars’ button?

To make it clear, I mean the little HP bars under the units. Having them always one can obscure gameplay, but they’re really useful for quick info. You can hover over a unit to see it, and the active and/or targeted unit will always be displayed during action.

Note: This update was adapted from Twitter, so we actually got a response from the developers behind Fell Seal! Figured I would include it~

Our new game is going to have a toggle for it tied to a hotkey and with the button always visible on the bottom bar during battle. So I guess my vote would be to have it (we like more options for players ^^)!
