The World Map – February 8th 2023
While I don’t remember doing a proper development log about the World Map, it’s basically how you navigate between scenes and the main way you’ll navigate the world of Dusk Tactics. Recently I’ve cleaned up the World Map a bit and also modified the path style, giving them a border to make them stand out.
A few new locations have been added and now most scenarios have their own unique location node.
Another major fix is the way units move around the map. World Map units now move between nodes at a constant speed which was actually a bit harder to do than I first thought it would be. Beziers are used to generate the visual paths and Catmull is used for the actual movement of the unit through these paths.
I had to reticulate A LOT of splines for this to happen.
