A Scholar is a Job that is trained by the Order of Minerva. It's one of the basic 12 Jobs and is one of the science based starter jobs.

A Scholar is a student of life and is the beginning of a long line of Science and Magick based Jobs. Much of what they do is support on the battlefield. They are heavily lacking in Physical Strength and Vitality but have some of the best Intellect and Wisdom. A Scholar is always a boon to your army be it as a tactician or a strategist. They can also handle themselves both up close and at a distance with Foils and Pistols respectivelt. They are, however, better suited to Tomes.

In the picture on the right you will see a basic layout of this class' starting stats. These are the stats at Level 1. These numbers are not locked in, they will vary depending on your Gender, Morality, Ethics, and possibly other attributes you can set when hiring a new unit.

The letters you see on the right side are ratings for each stats Growth Rate*. An “S” indicates the stat will grow extremely fast, while an “F” indicates extremely slow growth. The most important stats are the seven (7) attributes starting with Strength and ending in Luck. These stats are used to calculate almost every other attribute, so pay attention to these when choosing a Job.

*The exception to this is Move and Jump, these stats do not grow so the rating is more of an indication of how it compares to other Jobs in it's tier group.

Scholars are very different than other staple classes such as the Warrior and the Scribe in that they use Science rather than Magick or Physical strength. Science, or the Sciences have been around for ages, but the last hundred years have brought about a paradigm shift in how things are studied, categorized, organized, and taught. Science is a culmination of knowledge that is endlessly improving and it is seen more and more on the battlefield than ever before.

The Ability, Advice allows the Scholar to share realtime tactical information with nearby allies. This, in turn, raises the Accuracy and Critical Hit Chance of the unit they advise. The boosts to these stats act as a Buff and will last a few turns. The Passive, Student, gives them a tiny increase in Experience Point gain. This increase, while minimal, over time will allow them to achieve higher levels quicker.

Advises a nearby ally improving their Accuracy and Critical Hit Chance for a few turns.
9 MP
Increases Experience Point gain by 5%.

Scholars rely very little on Equipment, but it can give them an edge. They can wield three types of Weapons: Foils for melee, Tomes, and Pistols for ranged. They can wear light and medium Armor but they can only equip the smallest of Shields.
