A Chemist is a Job that is trained by the Order of Hermet. It's one of the basic 12 Jobs and is one of the science based starter jobs.

A Chemist is similar to a Scribe in that they are beginners in their field, however the similarities end there. Chemists focus more on the nature of things in a practical sense. They revere tested methods that can be measured and are known to rely heavily on Items to aid them. Many Chemists have the Intellect and Wisdom to be decent Scribes while some could even meet the physical requirements of the Warrior giving them a Jack of all Trades style attribute layout.


In the picture on the right you will see a basic layout of this class' starting stats. These are the stats at Level 1. These numbers are not locked in, they will vary depending on your Gender, Morality, Ethics, and possibly other attributes you can set when hiring a new unit.

The letters you see on the right side are ratings for each stats Growth Rate*. An “S” indicates the stat will grow extremely fast, while an “F” indicates extremely slow growth. The most important stats are the seven (7) attributes starting with Strength and ending in Luck. These stats are used to calculate almost every other attribute, so pay attention to these when choosing a Job.

*The exception to this is Move and Jump, these stats do not grow so the rating is more of an indication of how it compares to other Jobs in it's tier group.


Chemists are very different than other staple classes such as the Warrior and the Scribe in that they use Science rather than Magick or Physical strength. Science, or the Sciences have been around for ages, but the last hundred years have caused Gaians to experience a paradigm shift in how things are categorized, organized, studied, and taught. Science is a culmination of knowledge that is endlessly improving and it is seen more and more on the battlefield than ever before.

Their Ability, Throw is very important and allows them to combine their knowledge of combat with items they may have. While other units can use items, Chemists not only get more use out of the same items, but they can throw them to nearby allies or at nearby enemies. It can be a life-saving heal from a thrown Poultice or a damaging blow from a Bomb. The Passive, Crafty, gives potions they use or throw a huge boost in effectiveness allowing them to heal more.

Increases effects of HP and MP potions by 50%.


Chemists do not rely on Equipment as much as some other classes. They can wield three types of Weapons: Thrown, Tomes, and Pistols. They can wear light and medium Armor but they can only equip the smallest of Shields.
